Emergency Contraception Maida Vale - Morning After Pill
Morning after pill
What to do if you need the morning after pill
If you are worried about a late period or need to check out the reasons for a late period, you need to see your GP, but if you have had unprotected sex in the last three to five days, your pharmacist may be able to provide you with emergency contraception, also known as ‘the morning after pill’. You can also have the intrauterine device (IUD), also known as the copper coil, fitted up to five days after sex, by your GP in walk-in centres and family planning clinics.
In Maida Vale, you may be eligible for a free morning after pill, but most people will have to pay. We offer both levonorgestrel (or levonelle) and ulipristal (or ellaone).
The sooner you use emergency contraception, the more effective it is likely to be.
